Connection is what drives my work.
I have formal training in Thai massage and extensive training in Shiatsu. I also have practiced many movement modalities such as yoga, martial arts, and dance. I received my yoga teaching certificate in 2013.
We will begin with a conversation to establish a goal or intention for the session. This will inform my quality of touch, along with your feedback, to give you exactly what you need.
Shiatsu comes from Japan and is traditionally... practiced clothed on the floor. This gives us more space to move around for deep stretching. Shiatsu uses channels similar to acupuncture, and offers similar benefits, without all the needles. Combining the stretching with deep breathing helps to calm the mind and get you more connected with your body. Shiatsu helps you relax into your innate healing potential; pain and discomfort are avoided during the session.
Ask for what you need, and your body will tell me how to help you build the resources to achieve your goals. Along with alleviating physical discomfort, Shiatsu can help with cronic illness or trauma stored in the body.
