Overview

I am a New York State licensed massage therapist in good standing, and a graduate of the Swedish Institute in New York City. At the Swedish Institute I studied basic and advanced Swedish techniques along with deep tissue, sports massage, medical-massage and shiatsu. I have also worked providing hospice massage and led fitness groups for cancer survivors. I have been practicing massage since becoming licensed more than two decades ago.

My philosophy is I love doing massage. I'm an... out and proud bisexual member of the LGBTQ+ community. My speciality is serving the LGBTQ+ community and I am proud to do so. Massage is the most natural and healing of all modalities we can practice and give ourselves. Our community deserves healing and a safe space like never before. I practice an overall policy of no judgments in my work and in my life. My expertise in anatomy and injury treatment is unparalleled. Besides classical Swedish, other massage techniques I employ are trigger point therapy, deep friction, myofascial technique, facilitated stretching, and occipital release. I am located in downtown Manhattan in the East Village. I am tested weekly for CO-VID and all its variants. My goals are to provide you with high quality massage and to insure both your safety and mine. Thank you.

Steve was able to accommodate my request for an "ASAP" massage appointment yesterday.

Steve's location was easy to find, and his massage space is clean and very comfortable. He is a gentleman with great energy and made me feel comfortable right away.

I requested a light to medium pressure massage and Steve's massage was flawless as he knew immediately what areas of my body needed to be worked on. He also got me into that "zone" of relaxation where I felt like the outside world was far, far away. I even feel asleep, I was so relaxed. I thoroughly enjoyed the massage session with Steve and would I recommend him. I will definitely book an appointment with him again.

I travel a lot and I pulled my back out doing squats at the gym at my five-star hotel while in New York on business. I was in awful pain. I wanted a massage therapist who was experienced in both therapeutic and sports massage, that’s why I chose Steve. Luckily, he happened to be free within the hour. Upon my arrival, he immediately put me at ease. He was skillful, attentive, caring, (at times funny) and always conducted himself as a professional without being uptight or snotty about it. By the end of the session my pain was gone and so was my back spasm. I’m so grateful to Steve for helping to heal my injury and thus save me weeks of recovery time. Within a few days I was able to return to my daily workout. I think most importantly I felt that immediately I could trust Steve because his touch was strong, confidant, and deep with an intuitive knowledge of what massage strokes to use and how much pressure to use — especially on my injured area. A less experienced massage therapist might have hurt me, but he really knew what he was doing and helped me feel renewed. His studio was clean and private and I didn’t feel rushed at all. I will be back.

My most recent appointment with Steve was on Friday 6/8. He responded quickly and we were able to set something up on the same day luckily. I had a yoga class that week that wore me out so a massage with Steve was just what I was looking for. A shower before and after is always an option and for the massage itself, Steve is attentive, skillful, deep and healing. Both stimulating and relaxing, I'm figuring out how to pamper myself with Steve on a regular basis!
