Last minute trip up to DC to dog sit this weekend. While I'm up, I'll be using a friend's studio space at 14th and S Street. I'll be in town from Thursday the 12th through Sunday the 15th.
If you've been hitting the gym as part of the a resolution, you need a massage.
If you're in anyway helping with or preparing for the inauguration, you need a massage.
If you're in town for MAL, you need a massage.
Please read the following before booking.
I am a trained LMBT, Licensed Massage and Bodywork Therapist, based in Raleigh, North Carolina. My style is a blend of long flowing Swedish effleurage, deep tissue, and a variety of stretching. Deep tissue techniques include trigger point, muscle PRT, and myofascial work. This does not have to mean deep pressure. The stretches used are based on Thai massage, yogic practice, and joint mobilization techniques. My massage style combined with my anatomical knowledge, and curiosity, empower me to provide a transformative massage session.
YOUR BODY:: Your body is a fascinating piece of machinery, most of which is easy to take for granted. Hands, feet, arms, legs, neck, they all do what they’re supposed to, right? After your massage session I may recommend stretches or self massage techniques you can do at home to extend the benefits of your session. With an increased awareness and effort to change, you don’t have to live with pain.
When you feel a “knot,” your body has established compensation patterns. Your tight upper back and shoulders may actually be affected by an imbalance in your chest. Some of that low back tension may be related to a tight bum muscle. With all of these connections, I work on chest, abs, and the deep six gluteal muscles. Working these muscles will allow me to assist you in creating new patterns.
PRESSURE:: How much do you want? How much do you need? My massage sessions run the spectrum from light and relaxing to deep and restorative. As the massage unfolds, I will check in with you periodically to make sure we are on the same page. Bottom line, it’s your massage, always feel comfortable to tell me if anything needs to shift.
DRAPING:: Draping creates a clear boundary for both of us. I drape, with a top sheet. I move the sheet as needed, re-establishing this boundary, as we flow through your session. This enhances your body’s subconscious ability to relax and let go. It in no way hinders my abilities. (This is non-negotiable.)
RATES:: I am based in Downtown Raleigh and operate a mobile massage practice. I make house calls. I bring my table, linens, oil, and music to you. Depending on the distance, there may be a travel fee.
60 min. $80
90 min. $120
120 min. $160
TABLE:: I use a top-of-the-line Oakworks Aurora massage table. The three-inch thick padding provides cradling comfort while creating a stable, supportive base for your session.
OIL:: I use virgin coconut oil. It is hydrating, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and loaded with antioxidants. It absorbs into the skin, so you’re left feeling moisturized, not like you’ve been slathered in sun tan lotion. I use a minimal amount of oil to create effective glide on your skin, while allowing me to do more specific work as needed.
MUSIC:: Rather than the moans of whales, or the sounds of broken water pipes, your bodywork is sublimated by an eclectic blend of sultry tunes. I change the music to complement the goals of each session.
APPOINTMENTS: Text (preferred), email, or call to set up an appointment. The more notice you give, the better.
CANCELLATION:: Please give at least 24 hour notice or 50% of the service will be charged.
I went to massage school at Body Therapy Institute in Siler City, NC.
When I'm not doing massage, I'm crafting, exploring odd attractions, or practicing to become a fire performer.
RoadsideAmerica is a site I regularly check.
I like graphic tees too, teefury, shirt.woot, treadless are fun.
I'm also developing a botanical skincare line called William and Hairy.
