I've been practising yoga since 2003 and teaching it since graduating from the Sivananda Ashram in Kerala, India.
My approach to yoga is one of respect and kindness towards the body.
While it's good to come out of the comfort zone and learn more advanced postures, I believe the greatest benefits of yoga are the physical alignment and inner calm that result from a simple, regular practice.
In the exercises and postures, alignment is more important than depth and we should never do anything that feels excessively strenuous for the body.
The non-competitive nature of yoga must always prevail. It really isn't about how the poses look, but rather how they feel and what their benefits are.
Tailored to suit your needs, the yoga sessions can include some guided mindfulness meditation and some bodywork.
I've been practising mindfulness meditation for several years and bodywork since 2008, having trained in various methods including deep tissue and sports massage in London and Thai yoga massage in Thailand.
