My background as a massage therapist, retreat facilitator, and shamanic practitioner informs the nature of my shamanic bodywork and massage sessions. I have been studying and mentoring with spiritual teachers and healers for nearly a decade. Immersing myself in different teachings and practices has enriched my life immensely, and for the past six years I have been in roles that allow me to assist others in their healing. The majority of my work has been with the gay community and I continue to be deeply passionate about my gay brothers living more integrated and meaningful lives. While my clients are often gay men, I work with people of all gender and sexual orientations.
My approach to bodywork is based on the principle that we as humans are energy before matter. You can think of this energy in terms of spirit, bio-energy, and/or mental energy. We are energetic beings and everything that we experience can be looked to for its energetic properties. We often hold memories in different physical areas of the body. Some of these memories (grief, trauma, shame) hold us back from the lives we want to lead and the experiences we wish to have. The work I do allows us to explore what is happening at conscious and unconscious levels so that you have more information and insight to experience your life, your body, and your sexuality in a healthier, more integrated way. If you have attempted to make changes with how you relate to your life, body, or your sexuality but have not been successful, it may be because there are unconscious “scripts” or energetic momentum that haven’t been addressed. Thus, we explore your mental and emotional energy so you can be more in touch with your physical matter.
