My work space is located in the Flatiron/Gramercy area. It is conveniently located near the 6 and R trains. I do massages at my studio but also available for outcalls.
I was a top student while training at the 'Ivy League' of massage schools, the Swedish Institute. I am constantly keeping current with new ideas and techniques in massage therapy. My last workshop was on Joint Mobilization of the spine. This therapy is a specific method of stretching tissue at a specific joint. It is used to to increase range of motion, treat joint dysfunction, and reduce tension and pain.
Previous to this I trained in trigger point therapy. Trigger points are commonly referred to as “knots” in the muscle. They can result in stiffness, muscle tightness, limited range of motion and chronic pain. Working the trigger points relieves the pain and relaxes the muscles in those areas. As a result it increases the muscle length, it's range of motion and energy levels. This technique is very efficient and works quickly to relax the muscles.
I specialize in deep tissue but also trained in other massage modalities such as Swedish, medical, sports, shiatsu, joint mobilization, and other techniques. My massage is characterized by deep work combined with different techniques and body stretching.
My studies in personal training have given me a better understanding of how muscles work, and the importance of exercise and good posture to prevent injuries and to improve the quality of life. I train and keep in shape using kettlebells, Indian clubs as well as traditional methods.
Gel or cream biotone products used.
I volunteer as the massage therapist for the NYC gay male Metrowrestling team.
